The members of the Communication Committee of AEVERSU (Spanish Association of Companies of Energy Recovery of Urban Waste), met last Wednesday to take stock of the communication and dissemination policy of the Association during the last year and analyze, with the current global crisis, how energy from waste can help Spain not to depend on fuels imported from other countries. In our country, more than half of household waste is destined for landfill and an important source of energy is lost. Therefore, the role of energy recovery is relevant within the Circular Economy.

AEVERSU is made up of eleven energy recovery plants: REMESA (Melilla), SIRUSA (Catalonia), SOGAMA (Galicia), TERSA (Catalonia), TIRCANTABRIA (Cantabria), TIRMADRID (Madrid), TIRME (Palma de Mallorca), TRARGISA (Catalonia), UTETEM (Catalonia), ZABALGARBI (Basque Country) and CTRASA (Andorra).
